Contractor Tools for Your Bottom Line.

Audit Trails and Fraud Protection

While the construction industry focuses primarily on physical labor, a construction company must also be adept at mental labor--managing large amounts of financial data while ensuring compliance with tax laws and providing an audit trail. A company that builds great buildings can quickly be toppled by poor accounting practices and methods or inadequate fraud protection.

Solid audit trails are essential to ensuring your business's success. Audit trails protect you in cases of a tax audit and situations where you are obligated to produce financial documentation plus they also help provide fraud protection.

ComputerEase's fully integrated system ensures that any data you enter into one area of the system is instantly applied to all other relevant areas. Payroll entered is automatically applied to job costing. There is significantly less room for human error or the need to reenter data in several different modules. Audit trails and tracking is fast and easy.

CPAs acknowledge the strength and the value of ComputerEase's built-in audit tracking controls. See what CPAs are saying about ComputerEase.

"You've got a much better audit trail inside ComputerEase."

John Stenger

Well, some of the lower end systems uh, can allow someone to go back and change a transaction that happened five years ago, or they can go in and change a payee on a check, if you will. And it's very easy for anyone who has not set the QuickBooks up and, and, and looked at it, for a bookkeeper then to manipulate that data and no one to really know how that data was manipulated. You know, inside ComputerEase, they have an audit trail, and you can't go back, the bookkeeper can't go back and change a transaction. So you've got a much better audit trail inside of ComputerEase than you do in some of those lower end accounting systems.

Okay, with ComputerEase, it's a security through the uh, maintenance. It's great because I have all the project managers with the exact same set up. They look at the same uh, menus. Uh, for payroll, even though the payroll's being done by someone else besides myself, all the executive payroll is blocked. It can't be seen in any shape or fashion no matter what the reports have pulled up. Uh, you can, I can give the project managers uh, other executives, certain areas, but I can block out the things, general ledger, work in process, that if somebody accidentally did something, it would take a long time to correct. So, so the fact that I can just lock it down to where I know nobody can go in, they can't even delete stuff unless I've given them permission to do it. So, it's just, it's just, it's a nice feeling not having to worry about somebody blowing the system up by mistake.
